it says to try to hit any key and if you still see this message then something is really wrong. I am using R5A22. I found this command on a diferent user group to start the rippping daemon on start up.

# echo "/usr/bin/mtd --daemon" >> /etc/rc.d/rc.local

but myth doesn't seem to have a rc.local file

Thanks for your help

Why would MythTV have an rc.local file? rc.local is used on RedHat/FC and several other distro. You can put the needed commands in /etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh. You can also search for forum for other solutions.

Just try pressing numbers 1-9 in the keyboard. That normally "fixes" the problem.

If that doesnt work, check that your mythbackend is running. Go to:

/etc/init.d/mythtv-backend stop

and then start it again with

/etc/init.d/mythtv-backend start

If you get any errors, check that the /myth folder is fully accesable.
