Ok so read just about every thread under the sun about this problem and none seemed to help. So maybe someone can give some insight to this problem.

Setup:
PcChips M-811 v3.1 (Via8235)
Athlon XP 1800+
Hauppauge Win-Tv PVR-250
Radeon 8500LE 128MB
Onboard Sound
Also:
4-port USB card
If needed I have a SB live card i can thrown in.

I am getting that same problem as many others
used to do this when I clicked on watch TV
ivtv: Timeout waiting for data!

Now it flashes a blue screen, then goes black.
And I can hit exit and it comes back to MythTV Main Menu
and I get a little gay bar in the bottom right half horizontally looks kinda like TV snow?!?

Also the remote isnt working, not sure if that has something to do with the install-i686-l script or what.

Via chipset and ivtv are problematic. You need specify you have a remote duing setup or use the script. Did you do either? The greay remote should work if you did either.

trust me, I've been through this, go buy another MB, see my other post on this. I eventually got the sound to work, but you will consistently get

"ivtv: Timeout waiting for data! "

if you have a via chipset with the bug in it. My new MSI board has worked great in the past month.
