Is it one where the ir reciever and vfd display are integrated? Do they both plug into 1 USB port? Is it internal or external?

Also what chip does it use?

Its internal VFD from IMON and it uses USB for connection
the remote is the one with the mouse PAD on it and the IR are at the same place as the VFD

i use knoppmyth R5A30.1 but its the same

i have no clue why i cant get it too work

i installed a fresh LIRC and got the remote working with the od command but not with irw command
so i cant use it in knoppmyth or am i missing something somewhere ?

i am totaly LOST

I had one of those as well. Reliability was shotty, at best. I could not accurately get both to work at the same time...it was either one or the other. I had the most success following Jarod's guide for running myth on FC4. I never had any success with knoppmyth and, since I decided that this was the direction I was going to go, I opted for the ATI Remote Wonder.

I got LIRC working okay on a Gentoo system and imon-pad.

Just downloaded latest version LIRC (0.8.0) from LIRC CVS and followed Venky's instructions.

Once installing you can test by running mode2 and pushing buttons on the remote. You should see each time a button is pushed that it registers a corresponding code on screen.

If this work then run irw and push buttons. This time it should register the code and action (only if your lirc.conf file is correct under /etc/ )

I had to leave Gentoo as I could only get this working by compiling rather than installing LIRC using portage.

Hi,

Did anybody ever get the imon working? I have the same kit, works great under Windows, but nothing under Linux / Knoppmyth. (Well, I can see the codes when running mode2, but that is all.)

Any tips welcome! I really want to get Linux running someday!
