the subject says it all. the search progress bar comes up but never advances, i hear some hdd activity, and then i'm back to the desktop.

i copied a folder of divx movies into the /myth/video folder and i'm trying to play them from the myth gui.

any suggestions?

Start diagnosis by running mythfrontend in an xterm and seeing if it displays any errors when it crashes.

i can't get to the box right now to test, but i just remembered that i mounted a samba share to /myth/video/tiger

would that cause problems?


EDIT: yep, that was it. at least, it worked in a VNC window.
