Hello, I've seen a lot of posts on mythweb and webmin in this forum, and was wondering if they are the same thing.

In my set up, I am already assessing mythweb by going to:

http://ipaddress/mythweb

Once there, I can schedule recordings, see the recorded listings, check on backend status, etc...

However, in the row of icons at the top of the page, there is a "settings" button that when clicked, doesn't do anything. It points to:

http://ipaddress/mythweb/settings.php

Is this "settings" button the Webmin portion of the site?

There is a Webmin wiki at http://knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=WebminHowTo

I haven't enabled Webmin yet, so is this why I can't access the settings button?

Webmin and mythweb are totally different utilities. Mythweb is basically a website that will allow you to do mythtv specific things. Webmin is a web interface for doing computer/os administrative things. Got to www.webmin.com to learn more about it. It allows you to add/modify users, setup Samba shares, there are ALOT of modules that you use with webmin to do many different administrative things. Some people like it because it makes things easier, and some (like me) don't use it because they like to do it the old fashion way and have more control and more options.
Your mythweb settings should take you to a page like this:
This is the index page for the configuration settings...
It's incomplete, and will eventually get some nicer formatting. For now, you can choose from the following:
MythWeb Settings
Channels
Key Bindings
Here you can change a few settings for mythweb itself, change channel information and key bindings for mythtv. Hope that clears it up for you.

also to access webmin you first follow that wiki page to start it and create a password, then you access it at https://ipofmythbox:10000

Just a followup to my original post. I've discovered I could get into the Mythweb Settings page by typing in the url it points to. Namely, http://ipaddress/mythweb/settings.php

Same with the other buttons at the top of the page, clicking on it doesn't work, but typing in the url directly does. Must be something to do with my browser. Oh well, as long as it works...

I'm still working a problem where it denys the IP I'm coming in from... (with a secure browser) despite having put that IP in the allow line of the configuration file.

Snaproll, maybe you have MAC address filtering turned on in your router? Just a thought.
