I am a fair noob when it comes to linux, so please have patience

I am trying to install KnoppMyth but when it comes time to setup my dvb card I am finding no channels when I scan... I know the card is fine and the antenna is fine as it works under windows. When I do the channel scan it runs very very quikly (Like in 1 second) which doesn't seem right.

I am using a FusionHTV DVB-T card.

Thanks for any help or suggestions you might have

Jamie

Hello

I had a similar problem with my Air2PC R2.0 HDTV card. When you set up the card it detects as a DVB type card. So I did a little research on the CVS mythtv site and noticed that the developers are working on some bugs with DVB type cards. There is a ticket out their right now. Second, on my particular card there is a lag of around 2-4 minutes for the card to start locking channels.

So I did a test on R5B7. When ever I start or restart my box I go thru this process.

Code
/etc/init.d/mythtv-backend stop

Then I go to my XP machine and use putty to log in to my mythtv box as root. Once logged in I wait 2-4 minutes and then run

Code
Femon

This shows that the channels are in fact locking

Then I restart the backend
Code
su
/etc/init.d/mythtv-backend start

Then I go to fluxbox and choose restart with the mouse to restat the Front End.

The reason that I know that there is a lag of about 2- 4 minutes is because I looked at the backend log with WinSCP on the XP machine.

/var/log/mythtv/mythtbackend.log

Look in the DTV forum and you will see posts regarding channel detection problems...
