You can set the pictures specs through the web interface quite easily, or others have posted how to do ti through mysql. Either way, if youfind a setup that works for you, just plug it in to every channel and myth will set those parameters on every channel change etc. It worked for me until I was able to get the new drivers to work.

Hmm. Well, alright. I know next to nothing about Apache, so I have to ask. I have KnoppMyth running on one computer (lets say its address is 192.168.0.5) and my normal desktop computer is 192.168.0.1. 1) how would I look at the web interface of the KnoppMyth computer from my normal desktop? 2) How would I look at the web interface from the KnoppMyth computer, if that's even appropriate to do...

point your web browser to your knoppmyth machine, in this case: 192.168.0.5, log in and away you go. The access to the channel configuration is through the tools and setup (I think) button on the top of the page. you could, I suppose, connect from the knoppmyth machine by pointing the browser to localhost, though I've not tried it.

The web browser editor is all well and good, but when you have 70+ channels, you don't want to hand-edit every single one of them. The SQL update is much easier to do, and it's not even that hard. Maybe somebody can post a bash script for those that don't want to get their hands dirty?

For the good post & discussion, and thanks tjc for your input. I posted a question regarding color adjustment & and have adjusted my color as best I could with the keyboard "G"; 'still not quite where I want it to be, so I was looking for info on fine tuning the picture. I was even wondering if TV out from my FX5200 card might be better than from the 350, but I have a working setup right now so I'll try some of the tips posted here.
'Haven't got PIP working yet, but that can wait.
BTW, on a R5C7 install, I didn't have any of those problems compiling IVTV, everything went okay, but since I've done this several times, that's not surprising to me, but I don't know what could be different with different setups.

I finally gave up on my R5B7 uprade (very unstable), and did a fresh install of R5C7, and...
No improvement in the color saturation problem. I upgraded to IVTV 0.4.5 and the "channel change crash" bug hit me. Grr. I upgraded to a development snapshot of ivtv mentioned here: http://www.ivtvdriver.org/pipermail/ivt ... 02967.html and now my color, and saturation is fine or at least much better. I still have to specify options tuner=47,50 for my PVR350+PVR150. Now my sound level is very low. I tried maxing the master volume in alsactl and used ivtvctl to set the volume to 65535, and now the sound is roughly what I had before. I've only tested this stuff for a day, perhaps a dozen recordings intermixed beteween the two cards, but so far things are working well.
FWIW, my md5sum of the file referenced in the above emai: 8dc7f88d0a3909885224c4eeb4870f1d
Note, when installing the new IVTV driver it warns about needing to "HIDE" files. Heed that warning.

Try 0.4.6, it installs the ivtv modules by preference including the "cx25840.ko". I've got a very recent post somewhere with modifications to the CompileIvtv instructions to let you snarf and install the prerelease. Ah, here it is - http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=61135

I downloaded the file you mentioned, its the same as the one I had previously gotten (just last night).
I'd hate to have to create a channel change script just to get the louder volume. I suppose it could have been something that changed with my AV-710. I've never gotten around to playing DVDs on my mythbox, but perhaps that would be a way to verify its on the record side, and not on the playback.

No need to create one yourself. Hijack mine. They're already tested and known to work. There's a link further up this thread to where I posted them.
Hmm... I should really update those. I've improved the internal documenttion since that version...

The sound level problem turned out to be "user error". Doh!
The "options ivtv tuner=47,50" is still necessary, which is a bit confusing. I thought it was one of the things fixed with 0.4.5, I guess I must have been mistaken.
Things are working very well now. Off to get the motorola cable tuner change script going.
