Apparently, I broke my Apache/PHP setup. I was trying to get myxer configurator working via these directions, and now when i try to load any php based page from my server (not only the configurator page, but also my previously working mythweb page), the browser tries to download the the file instead of parsing it and displaying it in the browser. Can someone tell me how to reverse the damage I did?

the first thing I would try would be to copy a stock knoppmyth apache config back into
place.

If you get offered a download then its probaly just a missing type in apache

Restore your apache from the knoppmyth disk then

make sure your /etc/apache/httpd.conf contains the following
Code:
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
AddType application/x-httpd-php .xml

and your /etc/apache/modules.conf
Code:
LoadModule php4_module /usr/lib/apache/1.3/libphp4.so

you may need to replace the modules in the /usr/lib/apache/1.3 as well

I didn't actually have the "AddType application/x-httpd-php .xml" in my httpd.conf file, but adding it didn't change anything. Everything else is where you said it should be. I really don't want to have to reinstall the whole system to get this to work:? any other suggestions?[/code][/quote]
