Why are my TV recordings getting deleted? I'm new to the mythtv world. I just installled R5D1 on Monday. I can view TV with no problems. I can auto record one TV show with no problems. But, when I auto-record a second show to /myth/tv, the first recording gets deleted during the record process.

I'm running a proof of concept platform with a P4 1.4GHz, 512MB ram and a PVR-250. /myth is a 4GB filesystem with over 2GB free (it will be much larger once my issues are worked out). When I try to Watch Recordings, the title is there but the file is not. I get a GUI response of "The file for this recording can not be opened". ls -l /myth/tv shows only the most recent recorded file and the currenlty recording file unitl the previous file disappears. Is it being auto-deleted? I suspect this is a simple configuration issue but I'm not sure what to adjust.

/ and /myth have continuously remained with over 1GB of free space.

One Half-Hour show at SD takes up about 1 gig. I'm almost 100% they are auto-expiring when you record something new because you have no room left. 4GB is maybe enough room for 1:45. Where did you even get a 4GB HD or think that'd be enough for a partition?

Using the default recording profile with a PVR card is 2.2 to 2.3 Gb/hour. You simply don't have enough disk space here. The autoexpire is thus doing exactly what it's supposed to, and while it may not be what you wanted or expected, it's got to get the space from somewhere, and that means deleting old recordings.

Thanks for the help. I added another disk and the files are no longer being deleted.
