Wow, I had no idea it'd be this much trouble. It's time to recompile mplayer if you can't get that video to play. I guess the mplayer that ships with Knoppmyth doesn't include wmv9 support. The wiki should have some documentation on this.

Ya, that was the first thing that I did was upgrade to the latest version of Mplayer

Upgrading is not equal to recompiling, unless you downloaded the mplayer source, did the ./configure --with-whatever flags and all that then installed it. If you just did an apt-get update whatever then it may not be what you need.
