I was using R5B7 and formatted and installed R5D1, when i was on R5B7 i had fcue , dgen and zsnes working somewhat well (execpt fcue). Now however i am not able to even get zsnes to work well. Also i was unable to install dgen and had to use XE. The sound and video is horribly choppy and i have tried to switch emulator settings and am unable to get a smooth game. I have mupen64 working but it also does the same thing as XE.

What would be the first place to look at what may be the problem?

Uhh, your processor? Seriously, we can't even begin to troubleshoot unless you post your system specs.

1Ghz p3
245mb Sdram

Can't be more specific as i'm at work, will repost when home.

Didn't think the stats mattered as it worked fine in the previous release

Sounds like a pretty weak system for emulation..short on ram and ghz. Personally my athlon xp2800 runs every emulator I have roms for (xmame, zsnes and fceu) like a champ.

You do realize that D1 has a new kernel and may require a little more grunt right? Also, don't quote me on this, but the emulators that come packaged with knoppmyth might have been upgraded as well.

I had almost that same system and I had almost the same problem, but I broke down and paid out the extra 200$ and built a very nice 2.5ghz system. Never a glimpse now.

By the way stats always matters. Its just a p3 nothing more, don't expect much from that system.... when you regarding games, video, and more!!

added another 256 just for kicks ( had it laying around) it improved slightly but i guess you guys are right, i'm almost tempted to just reinstall R5B7 , the only reason i upgraded was to be able to add Genesis, didn't know it would play like butt.

I installed dgen instead of XE (only uses like 50% cpu instead of 80%) , set it (and zsnes) to run at high priority and it seemed to clear up the issues i was having. Mupen64 sucks but that was expected. Now just have to get the streaming working correctly. Thanks for you guys help.

Also after i finished getting fcue setup i played skate or die for hours. lovin it.

Yeah Skate or Die was ok, but 720 is the best, particularly the real MAME Atari version.

It takes a trackball controller to really appreciate it, but it was probably the best skateboarding game ever made until Tony Hawk's games.
