I did an apt-get upgrate ndiswrapper and it wanted to download a whole ton of stuff...

Which stopped at xlibs-static-dev. If I try to do it manually,

I get the follow:

Code:
root@mythtv:~# apt-get -f install
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
Correcting dependencies... Done
The following extra packages will be installed:
  xlibs-static-dev
Suggested packages:

How am I supposed to get around this?

Oooo... apt-get upgrade _bad_... You probably meant:
Code:
apt-get update
apt-get install ndiswrapper

If those changes got commited you may have roached the system.

well, that's not what I did... so now I have this seemingly horked up update.

I can't get past the previous because of the package conflict.

Any thoughts?

ok - will try that..

In the meantime, (in another thread) I'm going to nuke my present install
to put in R5A30 to see if/why SMP is broken... (I have a dual core that used to work but isn't coming up now... see other thread :) )

Thanks!

Well, upgrading to R5D1 cured all my package problems... for obvious reasons...

So I guess I'll work on the SMP problem next.

:D

That is the traditional means of recovery after running apt-get upgrade... ;-)
