I am needing an example of an XF86Config-4 for a voodoo3 3000 S-video out that is connected to the S-video in of a 1987 colortrak2000 televison. I have good picture on <ctrl><alt>F1 thru F6. But my <ctrl><alt>F7 is distorted. I have tried many conbinations of the XF86Config-4, with no luck. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Distorted how? Off center? Skewed (Parallelogram)? Pincushoining (bulging on the "flat" sides)? Bigger at the top than the bottom or vice-versa through all the rotations (Trapezoid)? Wavy? ... You're not giving us a lot to go on here. This might be as simple as narrowing the Sync ranges and trying different modelines, or it might require special driver options. Have you tried looking at the dociumentation for the driver you're using to see if they call out any options for TV-Out?

What driver are you using? I think a 3dfx card is an antique nowadays and it is time to upgrade.

I guess that would help... wouldn't it?

Everything on the main menu is listed twice (Watch tv, Media Library, etc...) Also, the main menu is off center (towrds the right). I can upload a jpg of the tv screen if you tell me where to put it.

Also, here is my XF86Config-4.

Here is your videocard section:
Code:
Section "Device"
### Available Driver options are:-
# sw_cursor is needed for some ati and radeon cards
#Option "sw_cursor"
#Option "hw_cursor"
#Option "NoAccel"
#Option "ShowCache"
#Option "ShadowFB"
#Option "UseFBDev"
#Option "Rotate"
Identifier "Card0"
# The following line is auto-generated by KNOPPIX mkxf86config
Driver "tdfx"
VendorName "All"
BoardName "All"
# BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
EndSection

The Driver it is using is "tdfx". Maybe you should try hitting up google for more info on that particular driver.

Sweeeeet... All of you that responded is golden in my books. After Ryan pointed out that tdfx was the driver used by XF86Config-4, i did some search as he suggested. I found the following link which held the magic ModeLine.

http://www.lm-sensors.org/browser/lm-se ... hips/bt869

I used

"ModeLine "800x600NTSC" 38.769241 800 812 814 880 600 646 649 735"

Depth 16.

This works really good. I do have about two inches of black space on both sides of my screen, but can live with that. I may do some experimenting.

THANK YOU ALL.
