Try it but I wouldn't recommend it... Currently the only debs I recommend are the debs I make. Have some patients folks. I'm producing the debs as fast as I can, remember I do have a personal and professional life.

Please take your time, cesman. We all appreciate your work more than you know. Also, we would all rather wait longer if that means less bugs :)

I'm running R4V2 on my backend...would you recommend updating to R4V3 before upgrading to 0.15?

if your system is running ok on r4v2 there should be no reason to upgrade to r4v3 before going to 0.15

well i guess i read cesman´s advice to late

didn´t work, but i compiled it more or less successfull. Needed to change tha makefile from lqt-m to -lqt.

Now i got the problem, that watching recorded shows is stuttering like hell  Maybe this has something to do with
Quote:
Special note:The mythtv deb was compiled to take advantage of O_STREAMING.. R4V2's kernel isn't patched for O_STREAMING. I don't what effect this may have...

Strange that watching/pausing/forwarding live tv works like a charm, as mythvideo does, only recorded shows stutter.

But no problem i guess i wait for r4v4 and do a complete reinstall, which i wanted to do before anyway.

thanks cesman!

Speaking of stuttering: I upgraded my R4V2 install using cessman's instructions (cessman...you rock!), apt-get the deb's he built. All went very smooth and the system is running great EXCEPT now I notice some "stutter" in fast action scenes that I've never seen before with R4V2. I am going to try disabling the "live preview of recorded programs" when I get home tonight.....what is this used for anyway?

Since R4V2's kernel is not patched with O_STREAMING....can I apt-get the patched kernel onto my system? Will I risk "breaking" my currentley working system? I would rather just do an auto upgrade using the R4V4 CD I just downloaded....but I had to to a lot of tweaking to the system to get it perfect such as getting a second instance of Lirc running to change channels on my cable box, get the TV out working on my PVR-350, get Alsa to "behave" (i was loosing my volume settings after every reboot). I remeber when I upgraded from one version of Knoppmyth to another...everything got wiped, it fromatted the partition that the main program (along with all my tweaked configurations) resided...if I do an auto update now...will it do the same? I've already backed up all of my config files that I modified onto the /video partition but I don't want to have to go throught the trouble in rebuilding a new instance of Lirc.

Thanks,

Steve
