I have been desperately searching for a Hauppauge PVR-500 with Philips tuners for the past two weeks because of the problems I have read about with the Samsung based PVR-500.

These reports are from Windows users and I wondered if there was anyone out there using the Samsung based PVR-500 in their Myth box who is happy with the picture quality from their card?

I heard today from Hauppauge that there will be no more Philips based PVR-500 because Philips have stopped manufacturing this tuner. They claim to have a patch to fix the issues with the Samsung but I suspect this is only for Windows,

Well, after two weeks of searching I just happened to pop into my local computer store and they had a delivery today - and the board appears to have the Philips tuners. I feel like I won the jackpot!

Hopefully the install and the setup in KM R5E50 is going to be relatively painless,
