Simon,
You asked
Quote: Are these R5C7 new installs or were they upgraded from a previous version?
Yes and no. I lost everything early last fall, due to a failed drive and operator error. It was totally rebuilt from scratch as an R5C7 system. I had a couple of issues over the winter and at that point I may have ran an update of R5C7 over an existing R5C7. So essentially it is still a new fresh R5C7 install.
I appreciate all you are doing. I will help if I can, but honestly my coding is like non-existent, and my Linux skills are not much stronger.
I can truly appreciate the no-time issue. It seems I don't have near the time I used to to jump into new endeavors.
Hope this helps.

Simon and others.
I finally got the opportunity to run the Mythweather update.
I used the script on the first page with a 2:41 timestamp.
The update worked fine right according to the steps. I have nice fresh Icons and Data.
The only issue I see is what was discussed here that the Doppler Radar map
It displays a map, starts to run through the update cycle for the map then displays Map not available for about 1 sec then loops again.
I am on R5C7. Now to get this portion working on at least one SBE.
Again Simon thanks for all the Hardwork.

I am on R5C7. Now to get this portion working on at least one SBE. OK if I've read previous posts correctly R5B7 and R5C7 users are seeing (or rather not seeing!) a missing map on the doppler radar screen. Checking my R5E50 system at home I definitely don't get this error message. Looking back at earlier replies I think this is a problem that's been addressed with mythTV 0.20 which R5E50 includes (both R5B7 and R5C7 seem to be 0.19 and I'm 99.9% sure R5D1 is too). From the Release Notes for mythTV 0.20 - MythWeather sectionQuote: Fixed radar images by parsing number of images from source site instead of assuming 6 are available
I therefore suspect, since MythWeather is being upgraded via the method I posted earlier, that some other bit of code needs updating ... ?
So I don't think this is anything I (or anyone other than yourselves*) can do anything about.
Simon
*by "yourselves" I mean that it looks like the only thing that could be done is to upgrade to R5E50 (or mythTV 0.20) but that seems a bit drastic just to fix a bit of MythWeather!

This does seem to be a problem that is "fixed" with the upgrade to .20 Seems to be related to directory structures.
I did find a few places where there have been various "Fixes" applied but only one said the Myth-revamp should work with .19 and greater. However, in that same location they provided a link to a How-To and it stated works with .20 and greater.
So it would seem that unless someone spends sometime figuring out the directory structure and prepares a "Fix" we are stuck.
Yes it would be a bit drastic to upgrade to 5E50 or go after a .20 update to my exisiting install just to fix weather.
I'll keep hoping and at least we are 90% there.
Thanks Again

Simon,
I understand how you certainly don't want to fix something already fixed in a newer release. But upgrading, like you said, is a lot of work to fix friggin' weather.
So.... a simple solution follows. If you (or someone) knows where the temporary radar pics are stored after they're ftp'd, can you simply include code to copy pic #5 and create a sixth pic?
If you know where the images are stored I would even be amenable to having a boiler plate pic permanently placed in the directory as the sixth image.
Rsvp & thanks for a LOT of work.
Abby

It looks like Mythweb/weather is broken again. It seems weather.com changed their radar URL. Now I get a slew of errors:

when I load my Mythweb/Weather page. Anyone have a quick fix for this? Thanks.

You're in luck as I was in a position to quickly fire up my VMware guest of KM R5E50 and take a look (and I understand more about weather.com's web pages than I care to know!)
To fix MythWeb's weather module:
Code: # vi /usr/share/mythtv/mythweb/modules/weather/includes/objects/WeatherSite.php
Change the two references to http:// w3.weather.com to http:// www.weather.com and you should be back in business!
HTH
Simon
Edited as realised just w3.weather.com needs changing to www.weather.com as rest of URL still works!

I am on R5E50. A lot of this thread seems to refer to earlier versions of KM.
I have not done anything to fix weather on my system yet.
Could someone be so kind as give the minimum needed fixes to get weather working on r5e50. I've just got this upgrade running well and don't want to kank it doing uneeded things for my version.
Thanks

Thanks Check simonflood's posts on the first page of this thread, where he states he is using R5E50...

One minor fix....
The patch is based on SVN Trunk not Fixes... There is a new function call in the weather page for trunk Code: tn('Host', 'Hosts', count($site->hosts) You will see the error in the top right as Quote: !NoTrans: Hosts!!: mythtv or Quote: !NoTrans: Host!!: mythtv To fix this for the time being..... Option 1: Change the mythweb page to not use the unsupported translation call.. Code: nano /var/www/mythweb/modules/weather/tmpl/default/weather.php Find the line with the Code: <div class="weather_site"> <p class="host"><?php echo tn('Host', 'Hosts', count($site->hosts)), ': ', implode(', ', $site->hosts); ?></p> <p class="location"><?php and change it to... Code: <div class="weather_site"> <p class="host"><?php if(count($site->hosts)== 1) echo 'Host', ': ', implode(', ', $site->hosts); if(count($site->hosts)> 1) echo 'Hosts', ': ', implode(', ', $site->hosts); ?></p> <p class="location"><?php Option 2: Update the *.lang file for your language, in my case English so So the fix would be... Code: nano /usr/share/mythtv/mythweb/modules/_shared/lang/English.lang Scroll to the bottom and add Code: Host Hosts CTRL-X and save

I accidentally triggered MythWeather when I had no connectivity. It took forever to show up, and now gives me only the radar picture. Everything else is screwed up, even now that I have connectivity restored. Is there a way to reset MythWeather short of reinstalling?

You should be able to re-work the weather settings by going into the menu to Utilities/Setup > Setup > Info Center Settings > Weather Settings

About the only squawk I've come up with so far about R5F1 is Mythweb only displays the weather radar picture, The weather data is a question mark.
But the data's there, & displays properly if accessed from inside the Myth program.
I searched through tjc's hitchhiker's guide, and it doesn't look like a known fix. Is it just me, or does anyone else see this ?

It's not just you. I've been meaning to add a note to that effect.
