I almost have everything configured exactly as I like, but I have 1 outstanding issue.

I had all audio going through the optical out and it was working just fine. I was finishing my TV settings and didn't get any sound. I checked the mythtv archives and found where I had to set the CAPTUR entry to a non zero setting. Well, lo and behold that made the TV side happy as a clam.

The problem is I did something to make the digital out buzz and hum. Now the MythMusic output is going to the headphone lines instead of the AC3 passthough. I cannot for the life of me remember what other settings I may have changed (I only remember setting the volume levels in alsamixer) and a search for this problem didn't get any hits.

I am sure this is a fairly simple thing, but I almost started banging my head against the wall at 1am trying to figure out what I did to screw up the AC3 passthough.

Like I said, it was working great! Music and ripped DVDs went right into the receiver though the TOSLINK connection without a hitch and it all sounded great.

Please tell me this is an easy fix. I can't believe I had this working up until I started adjusting the TV.

Oh, the TV is also going through the headphone jacks. Seems that all optical output is screwed up now.

well im not an expert here but im useing coaxle digital out and unless i
drop the volume level to 0 in alsamixer in one of the options(its maxed and drops in increments of 1/3rd of the bar) once its 0 None ac3 stuff will go thru the digital out and i dont think that optical will be much diffrent
the buzzing bit im not sure u could have this setting at the wrong spot
