Hi, I am fairly new to mythtv and am trying to make the myth2ipod process work on my myth box. I have changed the permissions for /myth/ipodfeed to 777 and have been able to subscribe to the podcast from iTunes. iTunes shows me all the available recordings but when I try to download them it gives me an error message saying

There was a problem downloading "name-of-the-recording". The network connection could not be made.

Has anyone seen this problem?

Thanks.

Did you change the IP address in the myth2ipod script to reflect our backend's IP address?

That did it! Thanks so much. I had to hand edit the existing xml and php files, but that did the trick. And, yes, I also modified the myth2ipod file as well.

Thanks again. KnoppMyth Rocks!

Well, I spoke too soon! The files now download into iTunes and also play within iTunes. However, I am not able to play them in the iPhone. All I get is a static image on the screen (maybe the first frame) and the audio. The video does not play at all. Any ideas?

Well, I copied the .mp4 files directly into iTunes (instead of thru the Podcast) Video folder. After I synch this with the iPhone it plays fine. This means, there is something wrong with the Podcast -> iPhone flow. Will research some more and post my findings back here.

Did you change the default myth2ipod transcode settings? I can sync with my iPhone, but the quality is real blocky so I'm looking for the settings to tweak. I'm guessing the default has a 320 by 240?
