My guide data is up to 9/2. Has mythfilldatabase ran today? I've got a Schedules Direct account setup and an building the latest fixes. I hope to get the latest ISO to testers tonight. There is no need to freak out...

I also have guide data to 9/2.

Cecil, I'm currently running R5D1... What do you recommend as the best upgrade path so that I can use Schedules Direct? Will I be able to edit some configuration files without upgrading? Should I upgrade to R5F1 prior to the changeover?

BTW, I have a schedules direct account already if that helps...

Backup and upgrade to R5Fx when it comes out. If you want to do it manually, you'll have to grab the latest -fixes from SVN.

I'm surprised that Zap2It's demise is not being discussed and worried about more. It looks like SchedulesDirect has signed up their first bunch of folks as well.

My guide data runs through 09-02 23:00. I would guess mythfilldatabase has not run on your system yet today.

On a side note, I just configured my lineups on SchedulesDirect. The interface takes some getting used to (I use the Local Broadcast listings to schedule my HD programs, and they don't differentiate the channels with -1, -2, etc.) but it looks like they are up and running. I haven't tried to pull data yet obviously, but we should be in good shape shortly.

I ran into the same issue. I had to pull up my Zap2it account in another tab and look at the call letters so that I was sure I was flagging the right channels...

Any chance you would be willing to provide some debian source packages of the relevant changed packages? I noticed you do have a debian repository on your ftp site.

Yea, I just ran mythfilldatabase by hand - and I do have guide data to 9/2. I'm still not sure I understand when zap2it is shutting down. 9/1? Or are they going to continue providing listings until the accounts expire?

Thanks guys for everything you do - I built a Dragon clone nearly two years ago and it's been very trouble free, other than the HDTV hoops with the missing PSIP data from Comcast.

There will be no packages. Build from source or upgrade to the new release when it is ready. As far as I'm aware, Zap2it (Data Direct) will be shutting down on the Sept 1st.

If they manage to do an identical simulation to DataDirect, in theory all you would have to do is point it at a new host. This could be done with an entry in /etc/hosts that replaces the datadirect hostname(s) with the schedulesdirect hostname.

They've changed more than just the hostname. It would have been too easy.

Here's a new gas station, but you need to upgrade your car.

Please, help us start this gas station by paying upfront...

BTW, I'm running 0.19.

As I understand it, they will be providing data until 09-01, meaning you will have guide data through 09-12. After (or during) 09-01 mythfilldatabase will no longer function unless you have a SchedulesDirect account/lineup and have upgraded to -fixes (see http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11985 to make that painlessly easy, and Cecil's rundown here http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16178 )

7 day Trial lineups are still available so you can see if you get what you need...

One backend, 3 frontends. They've all been up and running for 18 months. Any volunteers?

Couple questions on the transition front and I didn't want to start a new thread.

1. Come August 31st or so, would it be prudent to shut off mythfilldatabase so as to not over-right good data for no data?

2. Are QAM & SD workable when the channels need to be edited manually? (ie, stripped info from cable co. so you need to add channel info by hand.)

TIA

1. It isn't going to get data, so it isn't going overwrite data.
2. I don't understand the question. I followed the same steps in setting up SD and OTA channels as I did with DD.

1. cool

2. Let me explain.

When I set up my QAM digital stations there was no channel information just "81#3". To get this channel to bind to the program guide I needed to edit the information. Tune "81#3" in the FE, watch it for a bit to see what station it really is, then hit "E" and type in the xml(?) number and probe for the accurate channel information. Afterwhich it is re-numbered and 'bound' to the guide and I do a little dance. (Lather, rinse, repeat 50x).

My question is will the above change with SD?

(I never needed to do the above with analog qam or OTA)
