I have a remote frontend connected to my backend that is having trouble scrolling through the recorded programs list.

do i tried a mythfrontend -v all to get all the debugging info, and the only times where i notice a slowdown in scroll speeds are here:

Code:
2007-08-23 10:56:33.003 MythSocket(91c0eb8:13): DownRef: -1
2007-08-23 10:56:33.003 MythSocket(91c0eb8:13): state change Connected -> Idle
2007-08-23 10:56:33.003 MythSocket(91c0eb8:-1): delete socket
2007-08-23 10:56:33.003 MythSocket(91c4cf8:12): DownRef: -1

2007-08-23 10:56:33.003 MythSocket(91c4cf8:-1): delete socket

2007-08-23 10:56:35.927 MythSocket(91c2ca0:12): state change Idle -> Connected

i've entered the row of ********** between where it deletes the socket and when it finally gets to the next show in the list (i'm pressing down the down-arrow constantly and it's taking 2-3 seconds). Anyways, it seems that it's looking for a channel icon? is this correct?

where do i go about getting those setup? or is it something else that im missing?

If you have a channel setting pointing to a non existant icon or a recorded file with zero length you will have pauses as the machine tries to show the icon or preview the file.

Just had a quick look at the Recorded Programs screen, I can't see any channel Icons here either, so that probably isn't your problem. :)

Did it start like this since you set up the frontend, or was it working OK and start doing this recently?
If recently, can you think of any changes that you made to the system(s)?

it's been this way for a while now... no clue on the cause. it's not the icon, i don't think, because i manually added the icon for a few channels and it was still slow.

another thing i noticed is that mythfrontend doesnt find glx on my screen. but this should be loaded with my xorg.conf
