Installing R5F27.
Because of my IRBlaster (Actisys200L - and it dont work with irblaster.sh) I need to compile LIRC from source. I am getting an error when I try to run make. I do not get any errors during configure. Configure gives me "You will have to use lirc_sir kernel module".
I run make and right off I get:
Code:
echo " ERROR: Kernel configuration is invalid.";
echo "     include/linux/autoconf.h or include/config/auto.conf are missing";
echo "Run 'make oldconfig && make prepare' on kernel src to fix it"

and further down I get this:
Code:
...include/linux/i2c.h:32:26: error linux/i2c-id.h: No such file or directory
make[5]............./lirc-0.8.2/drivers/lirc_dev/lirc_dev.o] Error 1

I never had this problem before. Even in R5F1 I just untarred lirc version 0.8.1 and it compiled no problems. I am currently trying Lirc_0.8.2. Lirc_0.8.1 wouldn't compile either, I got alot of configure errors and make errors about missing seperators..

At this point I'm about ready to throw out my damn Actisys200L and get something more generic, that will work with irblaster.sh.

Any suggestions?
[/code]

Update- got it working. After using information from these 2 threads:

To get and compile (not install, just compile) kernel source.
(may not have even been needed).
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... c&start=15

And then to run the lirc setup then do save/exit (not save/configure!)
(and modify first 2 lines of configure.sh as per this thread)
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... 2400#82400

It was able to compile. If anyone else is using the actisys200L and using my install script from the elgordo ftp I will modify the script to reflect these changes. However, it wont be as automatic as before.

I ran into some of the same issues but this howto made things at lot easier:

http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=LIRCHowTo

The only problem I had was that the symlink for /dev/lirc that was created after the make install was always lost after a reboot. Since I have a USB-UIRT the symlink pointed to /dev/ttyUSB0.

I got around this by creating the symlink in /etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh, but I'm just wondering if there is a cleaner, "correct" way to do this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
