Just an FYI uploaded a KnoppMyth R5F27 Virtual Appliance I use for testing. The Vitual Appliance runs on VMware (open to VirtualBox, XEN, or QEMU if interest)
I use KM Virtual Appliances from my desktop all the time to test "software/OS enhancements", MythTV SVN, to avoid messing up my live KM installs and maintain a high WAF.
The Appliance is 960mb and I had to upload as a torrent as I don't have a hosting solution.

From README
-------------------
This Virtual Appliance is intended to showcase KnoppMyth/MythTV to new users, and to serve as a testing environment for experienced KnoppMyth/MythTV users. The Appliance was built using KnoppMyth R5F27 (1), which utilizes MythTV .20.20070821-1. (2)
10-17-2007 - 2.0.1
The KnoppMyth Auto Install was used with the following changes applied
1. Account used during install id-install password-mythtv 2. root password - mythtv 3. /myth LVM group, 3 partitions included in LVM(/dev/hda3, /dev/hdb1, /dev/hdc1). Used the default KM create_lvm.sh script during initial install. 4. rrd installed (not monitoring temp or fan speeds) 5. enabled bootsplash 6. MythWeb id-mythtv password-mythtv 7. Fake loopback video TV tuner added. (can record) 8. Fake program data populated into database. 9. Populated media in MythGallery, MythMusic, (3) and MythVideo (4) 10. Added some folder art for MythVideo 11. Configured samba to start at boot (id-mythtv, password-mythtv) 12. Configured NFS to start at boot (id-mythtv, password-mythtv) 13. Configured Webmin to start at boot (id-root, password-mythtv) 14. Changed MythMusic setting to show song ratings, list as shuffled, and change visualization on song change. Notes: Do NOT enable OpenGL paint engine, vmware video driver cannot handle it. If accidentally enabled OpenGL then launch mythfrontend like this to fix. start mythfrontend with "-O ThemePainter=qt"
(1) KnoppMyth www.mysettopbox.tv (2) MythTV www.mythtv.org (3) Music media thanks to the artists of http://www.podsafeaudio.com/ (4) Video media thanks to Justin Hornsby http://www.juski.co.uk/

Ah excellent!
I actually want to get knoppmyth running under xen (para-virtualised), however this vmware image will do nicely to test my network setup.
Thanks!

For what it's worth, knoppmyth also runs really nicely in virtualbox.. It's almost fast enough to use the frontend on the livecd on my athlon64 3200+ running windows xp. It's better than qemu with kqemu acceleration. I haven't tried vmplayer yet.

Thought about updating it for KM R5F27? I could help you seed it with my ultra torrent box...

Yep, Started it just have to do the content tweaking and database population. Probably next 2 weeks I'll have it done time permitting.

Good Job.. Really, with the pythlon-plugin that's suppose to be coming down the pipes, and VM, we should really see the wealth of 3rd party apps grow. I want to mess with Miro/Torrents and add some sort of decent torrent handling (all on the legal side of course).. when i have the time, work like this will go so far in helping..

Could you detail the steps you took to get knoppmyth working in vmware? I've tried a few times and never got it to work.
I would be very useful to be able to set these up with the latest versions of knoppmyth for testing before munging up my box and pissing off the wife. There are things I'd like to try and programs I want to write while playing it safe...

OK, http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php? ... eKnoppmyth
Or http://www.easyvmx.com/ to make your VM configuration with disks. I used Generic Linux with 2.6.x kernel.

I've started to retrieve it, but I don't see any peers up at this time. Is your computer seeding it? Once I have it, I'll continue to seed it as long as there's interest. (I'm also seeding R5F27.)

The torrentbox tracker now blocks US based connections so I can't seed and I can't move to another country. Thanks DMCA...
I'll have to add some other trackers tonight and re upload.

I'm running TorrentFlux on my box -- can I be the tracker as well as the seeder? I'm still new on this torrent stuff.
Never mind -- I'm getting it now!
EDIT:
Got it now. I'll leave my system on seeding it for anyone who wants it. Come and get it...

Updated the torrent and above link to add the non-US trackers so US ppl can seed fully without relying on DHT. Shouldn't affect those getting from DHT as the file hash remains the same. Sorry for mixup.

I dunno what the problem is, but I've tried using Azeurus to download it from another internet connection and I can't get the file at all. It says there are 2 seeders but 0 connected.
Also the original link doesn't work any more -- you have to search for "knoppmyth" after you use the link.
